The Path to Hell for Prayuth
The path to hell is paved with good intentions, or so they say. General Prayuth has claimed from the start of his illegal coup, that his intentions were "good" and that his junta aimed to break the political deadlock in Thailand.
A mere two days later, and look at the results. Prayuth is now isolated, friendless, and incapable of making a decision. The General whose decision to demolish democracy in Thailand was made in haste, is now repenting at leisure.
Little did Prayuth know the day he smashed a table screaming hysterically that he would "take over the administration" that he would lose face quite so quickly.
His plan looked so simple at the start: Lock up all your rivals, cancel the constitution, send the tanks out into the streets, impose media silence.... and voila! Then, declare yourself Prime Minister and tell everyone to shut up.
But things are starting to go pear shaped. It seems that neither Prayuth's rivals in the Thai army, nor ordinary Thai people, nor the international community are buying Prayuth's story about his "good" intentions. Oops!
The war cry has gone out, and it's "Fuck the Coup!" That's the catch phrase in the streets of Bangkok and in the Social media now. Prayuth can't even get anyone to abide by his demand that no-one criticise the coup.
International condemnation is fast piling in, with just about everyone opposed to Prayuth's silly royal junta. There's even talk of a government in exile being set up and an end to military help from the US.
Poor Prayuth. The General who was only a few weeks away from a comfortable retirement, is now walking the path to hell as his ambitious plan to be the next Chakri Rama falls apart before our eyes.
So funny.
