Watch out for your wallet, Prayuth´s about!

No-one should be fooled by the seemingly kosher legal changes being made by Prayuth's junta. The objective of these is to rob Thai people blind by stealing the nation´s tax money.

Prayuth is not one to hide his personal liking for money. Under Yingluck the greedy general twisted the former PM´s arm and conned the Thai state out of a 60% increase in the army budget.

After the 2006 military coup all industrial patents were illegally cancelled by Sonthi's junta, turning army generals into instant mega rich playboys.

Now Prayuth is at again. Like all nasty dictators the general seems to have very sticky fingers and is changing the country's laws to make the junta's criminal activities appear perfectly "legal".

Prayuth's plan is simple: First, appoint yourself "chairman" of the Board of Investment. That should make it easier for him to nick lots of cash from Chinese investors.

Next, tear up the 2007 Constitution, ending all hope of deregulation in the telecommunications sectors. That should bring in a baht or two for Prayuth and his cronies at the expense of Thai people.

Finally, dissolve the anti-corruption watchdog, thus creating an environment in which rampant corruption can flourish unchecked and unmonitored.

But wait! We need a distraction to throw the hounds off the scent, so let's pay Thai rice farmers the money we owe them, then cook the books and steal yet more public money. Wow! Dictatorships pays!

There's no doubt that Prayuth Chan-ocha is a fast learner. Is it any wonder? The general's mentor is the Thai king himself. Prayuth learnt how to be a thief from the best.

Eventually of course, when Prayuth can't stuff any more stolen cash into his pockets and the economy is in ruins, Thailand´s army will do what it always does. Restore democracy.

It worked for Bhumibol for sixty years, making him the richest and most corrupt monarch in the world. Now Prayuth wants a piece of the action too, it seems.
