Free speech and democracy are not the problem in Thailand
Online threats against Chatwadee "Rose" Amornpat are fast becoming the latest craze among ultra royalists living in the UK.These people appear to have little regard for the laws in the country in which they live flaunting their arrogance in front of the camera.
The latest video to suddenly pop up on Youtube, is that of a camp-looking Thai royalist who makes a complete fool of himself. Constantly grooming his hair while threatening Rose with foul language that reveals his lack of education, he even mentions the hotel at which he's staying: The Crowne Plaza hotel in Kensington, London.
A perfect example of a retarded royalist. You can always spot them by the way they preach dictatorship back home in Thailand, while enjoying the benefits of living in a democratic country with all the freedoms they deny their follow Thais.
Now think back to Prayuth's argument about "law and order". The general says that democracy doesn't work in Thailand, and that his army coup is necessary to make changes to ensure "law and order".
intolerance
These videos prove that democracy per say is not the problem. The problem in Thailand is the king and his followers who disrespect those who think differently and make Siam ungovernable by undermining the rule of law, just as they are now doing in the UK.
The attitude of Thai royalists who are threatening Rose proves this point. They exhibit exactly the same intolerance as fellow royalist in Thailand, threatening those whom they disagree with and arrogantly breaking the law. These people create chaos in the name of the king wherever they go.
Notice also, that so far there has been no attempt by the Thai king or his junta to put an end to this shameful behaviour. No condemnation from the Palace and no call for restraint from the Thai king to his followers. That is why democracy in Thailand does not work.
So democracy and free speech is not the problem to the stability of Thailand. The problem is the Thai king, because he fails to bring his fanatical supporters into line. The only way to resolve that situation, is to do away with the monarchy altogether and establish a stable Thai Republic where law and order cannot be undermined by a king.
